I attended Spondon House
I attended Spondon House School between September 1967 and June 1972. Sadly, the buildings that I knew are no longer standing, but perhaps some of the boys and girls I knew will jog a few memories: Andrew Pitt, Chris Oldfield, Lynn Bullock, Marian Foy, Lance Fisher, Robert Dawes, and Jennifer Whitcombe to name but a few.

I feel the very same way. Great school years there. The wonderful memories that are still part of my life...So much history has gone the way of the bulldozer. It's sad to see that my school, which served so many unique parts of history couldn't be saved.

Hello David, just read your message, about SH
(Thank you for remembering me and the name check😊.)
I remember you and your pals in our Linacre form room- science block.
Such a pity the school suffered fire damage and consequently demolished. The building itself was top notch so too the pool and grounds
The best teacher there in my opinion was "Pop" Davies - mathematics.

I attended Spondon House from
I attended Spondon House from 1963 to 1968. Best subject was chemistry, must have been a pain to Mr. Holmes, never out of his lab unless in the music room. Brand new building when I was there, I even managed the secretarial course but never used it. Went on to People's college in Nottingham to study science. Moved to Norfolk a long time ago and was thinking of my school days today and thought I would look up my old school. What happened to it?

Hi there Rodney, I remember
Hi there Rodney, I remember you well. I too attended Spondon House school from 1967 - 1972. If I recall my final year was at the upper school which was the Grammar School previously. But my first four years were at the lower school. As you say the school burnt down and none of the buildings exist now. The last time I was there which was 2 or 3 weeks ago - end of November 2019 - there was nothing left at all of the old school with just an open field to show where it was. Very sad in a lot of ways; like a part of my life had been taken away. My very best wishes to you.
