The names of all the pupils…
The names of all the pupils from all four school year classes were signed by them personally onto scrolls at the end of the Summer 1953 term. These scrolls were then inserted into a copper pipe fabricated by the school metalwork teacher Mr Derek Redfern and placed in a cairn of stones on top of the Mound on the west side of the playing field at a ceremony conducted by Headmaster Mr. Albert Walton. These were subsequently recovered when the mound was removed and later donated to the society's archives.
