SPONDON STATION PLAQUE
On Thursday 13th August 2026 a plaque commemorating the tragic accident which befell Station Master Henry Ernest Haines was unveiled on the station building by the Mayor of Derby, Councillor Jonathan Smale. The event was hosted by the Chairman of the Friends of Spondon Station, Neil Johnson (both are pictured below) with valued support from Network Rail, East Midlands Railway and the current building owners, Pure Construction,
