T. Sadler (top row, far left) was my father, Guy Thomas Sadler (1913-1989), son of Alice and Frank Sadler, of Nottingham Road, Spondon. He met my mother (Clari Hollingworth born in Sheffield)when she moved from Lincolnshire and came to work at British Celanese and they married in 1943.

My mother, Clari Hollingworth before she married my father Guy Thomas Sadler from Spondon, came down to Derby from Scawby, Lincolnshire, in response to an advert for a chauffeur for the Managing Director of British Celanese, Dr. Soller in 1941. She got the job, and worked for him and others for 4 years, taking him to and from the Homestead in Spondon, along with many other duties.

Thank you for your comments Margaret. It was very interesting to hear that your mother became chauffeur to Dr. Soller. I've also put your father's full name in the photograph caption.
