Mr and Mrs Stanley Lewty and family lived in this house until about the 1960s. Mrs Mary Lewty MBE was Commandant of the WW1 VAD Hospital located in Spondon House School, Church Street. Mr Stanley Lewty's father was an estate agent in the 1800s.
